Raikiri, katana, Asian sparring sword, sparring sword, longsword, Miao Dao, HEMA swordStyle 1: Raikiri – 雷切 – (with Schildt) – “Lightening Cutter” – It’s name origin dates back to Japan’s Sengoku period , where a samurai named Tachibana Dōsetsu originally wielded a famous sword called Chidori (“One Thousand Birds”) that would later be renamed after surviving an encounter with the Thunder God, Raijin.
